With 16 years in recruitment and 11 years building Huntsman Recruiting, I'm still right in the thick of it. I'm not sitting on the sidelines pretending to know the market. I'm in it every day with my finger on the pulse.
I'm based in Palm Beach on the Gold Coast, and live life at full tilt. At home, that means a beautifully chaotic blended family with four kids, plenty of noise, and not much sitting still. One minute I'm playing mums and dads with my three-and-a-half-year-old, the next I'm standing poolside as the unofficial lifeguard, diving board and chief thrower of kids. And when things do finally calm down, I'm usually the one winding everyone back up again.
I'm hands-on, all-in, and absolutely mad about being a dad.
What gives me my edge goes a lot deeper than recruitment. In my twenties, I battled drug addiction, and coming through that changed everything. It shaped the way I see people, the way I listen, and the way I show up. It made me more resourceful, more empathetic, and more self-aware, and gave me a new lease on life.
It took mentors, support, hard lessons, and people who backed me when I needed it most. That journey is a huge part of why I care so deeply now. Helping people isn't just part of the job. It's wired into who I am.
